98 ford expy wont start
I changed the battery in my 98 ford expy when I connected the pos terminal the horn kept going off and the lights stayed on. I have since disconnected the horn. Turn the key all the pwr/locks/windows lights dash lights work but the car doesn't turn over. Radio also does not work The only way to start it is to jump the solinoid with a screw driver. Replaced the solinoid already and that is not it. In desparate need of some help.

I can't explain the electrical problems (horn, radio). But, if you take the solenoid out of the circuit and the truck starts, it seems like a bad solenoid. Was the problem exactly the same with the previous solenoid? Why did you change the battery in the first place? When you connected the positive lead was the negative already connected or touching a ground path?

No start conditions are always a bear to troubleshoot, especially electrical problems. The first thing to do is work backwards from the starter. Go to the library, and hit up the ALLDATA database for wiring diagrams, and TSBs, then go at it with a DVOM. It is the only way to troubleshoot these types of problems.
