Today, a '66 3/4 ton caught my eye. The owner saw mine and we spent some time comparing trucks. He claimed that the VIN tag decribed his engine as a 390 although I didn't spend any time comfirming this, there were a few things that made me wonder.
The truck was a custom cab with bucket seats. They seats looked like mustang seats and there was a center console. The center counsole matched the seats but was not a Mustang part. The truck was fully carpeted including covering up the gas tank. The carpet looked original in fit and finish. There were door pockets as well. The interior was in great shape and the color would be called "parchment" if it was a mustang.
His truck also had a cable operated heater core shut off valve along with the regular "pull for heat" fan control. Mine does not.
His truck had none of the smog stuff mine has, I wonder why?
That would be a ranger edition. Was it in good condition? Comes with a falcon console. There's a 1965 on ebay right now with the ranger package. There's a few posts on them right now on the forum. Its a rare truck by the way -4speed
