Talking Bushbased.

Hi, new member here, they call me Roscoe and I have retired to my sons Droughtmaster cattle stud in S.E. Queensland, Australia.

My first F truck was a brand-new red August 1980 F100 LWB Dentside equivalent to a 79 US or Canadian model.
A righthand drive Australian assembled truck fitted with a 351 Cleveland, 4bbl Carter Thermoquad, C6 auto with LSD 9 inch rear axle,
The Australian R/hand drive trucks were unique in being fitted with either 302 cu or 351 cu Clevelands, yes the 302 was a de-stroked 351 Cleveland.

Currently I own a Bullnose 1986 F350 4WD originally with a Windsor but I converted to a 351 Cleveland, NP 435 and 205 transfer with Dana 70 single wheel rear end.

I also am in the process of restoring a 1974 'Hi Boy' F250, a rare right-hand drive Australian assembled model, originally fitted with a 300 cu 6 cylinder but now converted to a 351 Cleveland, NP-435 and separated 205 transfer with 4:11 Dana rear and HD44 front axle.
I did a chassis up cab off rebuild in 1990 of this truck, the cab was a dent side with the American dash, however the top of the cab was badly damaged, and I replaced it with a 1976 Australian cab with the Australian dash.
Sadly, the cab has some serious rust, and I am again stripping it back to chassis for a complete body overhaul, not having any luck finding a better cab so will cut and shut with replacement parts.
The driveline and engine are in excellent mechanical condition and chassis is dead straight rust free.

I also own an unusual 1976/7 F250 Hi boy ambulance converted for a recovery vehicle for the Australian Airforce, it also an Australian assembled R/H drive model originally fitted with 300 cu 6 cylinder but again now converted to a 4bbl 351 Cleveland, NP435 205 Dana 60 rear axle and open HD44 Dana front axle with disc brakes original fitment.

I am semi retired and have a fair collection of dent side spare parts and beginning the teardown of the Hi boy truck, It has a very tidy interior with 3 bucket seats instead of the original bench, I am not concerned about keeping total originality and will convert the drum brake 44HD closed axle to discs and it has a modified dash with individual autonomous gauges and the more modern steering shaft out of an Australian Ford Fairlane as well as under dash air conditioning

Enjoy following members reconstructs and comments, happy restorations and cruising, stay safe, Roscoe.

Hi and welcome Roscoe, sounds like you have a pretty nice fleet of Ford trucks.
