I ordered a 2024 F350 from Granger, is it possible to have them specify a back window with no sliding glass, and to NOT install all the nanny tech stuff I so detest, like adaptive everything, collision assist, all of it?
I really don't want or need any of that stuff on my truck. I understand it can mostly be turned off but does it stay off and not affect how the truck drives?
Nope. You’re stuck with it. Only way to get rid of the nanny stuff is to stay in an XL. But yes, you can turn the stuff off and it does stay off.
To get a solid back window, you’ll have to choose a trim level it’s available on.
Get an XLT with FX4 like we did. The sliding back window is an option.
It's a good basic truck with decent enough starting platform & you can specify all the things you want as options.
I have a XLT and there's very little nanny state stuff on there. No sliding back window either...
The POWER SLIDING REAR WINDOW is an option on XLT trucks for $405. Our 'off-the-lot' truck came with it, although I'd have preferred not to have it. Just another thing that can go wrong and/or leak Oh, well.
The XLT doesn't have the cooled and heated seats. Might not seem like a big deal, but getting in the truck when it's 103* ambient and inside the truck might be 130*, it is extremely nice to kick on the cooled seat while max on AC. If not for that I would have ordered XLT.

Same here with my XLT Premium Tremor. I don't use a slider. I have a big graphic on the rear window. Any trucks I've ordered, I skipped that option. But this truck came off the lot with it. The switch has never been or never will be touched by me.

The cloth seats are heated on my XLT but not cooled. Never experienced cooled seats so I'll continue to live without them. Cloth with a neoprene cover works great for me for seats. I've never cared for the leather seats in other vehicles I've owned.

Yeah.
Our 2024 F250 XLT Supercab 8ft bed is replacing a 1997 Silverado K2500 with 8ft bed, which did have a [manual] sliding rear window. I have used it in the past to transport very long stuff (~16ft) where the items were poked through the window.
In order to make the F250 rear window usable, I might fabricate a headache rack myself and have the lower portion of the window cut-out of the rack's frame be slightly higher than the F250 rear window; that way whatever I poke through the window will rest on the rack, and not on the window.
So, you want some nanny stuff just not all of it. That’s going to be hard to find.
As far as the “cooled” seats go, really it’s just a fan that blows a little air up through perforations in the fabric. Sort of like how an air hockey table works. It’s somewhat nice on a hot day but it’s not going to really cool you down quickly. And I found that debris, dirt, food, etc. will get stuck in those perforations over time and it’s impossible to clean without taking a needle and cleaning out each little hole which drives my OCD crazy.
Yeah.

One thing I learned many years ago, do not start down the road with the sliding window open if there's any sawdust or similar material in the bed. It'll swirl through the cab in a hurry!
