My 89 F150 4x4 with 6" lift and 35x12.5R15 tires, shakes at highway speed. It begins as a low frequency shake at about 45-50 mph that appears to come from the rear. As the speed increases it somewhat goes away until about 60-65 mph where it returns at a higher frequency but feels as if it is coming from the front and rear. This pretty much began with the installation of the 35" tires. My old BFG's were totally worn out and shaking as well but not nearly as severe. All suspension parts seem tight and not worn.
I was thinking the original balancing might be the problem so I had them balanced on a Hunter GSP9700 but they still shake. I do notice when I lift the wheels off the ground just enough to unload them, I can rotate them by hand and they contact the ground in only one area as if they are out of round. They all do this.
Does this sound like out of round tires from the symptoms I describe?
How much out of round is acceptable?
Would " trueing" these tires be possible?
Any help would be appreciated.
