So I have a 79 f250 custom with the inline 6 and the np435 I wanna put a v8 in it and keep the same tranny. What would I have to do in terms of flywheels and making the switch?
The bell housing you have now is for a small block so 300 six, 302 and 351W will all use that bell.
I believe if you go with one of the other 351's / 400 they use a different pattern and again as do the big blocks FE (390 / 428) and 460.
Get the flywheel for the size motor you get just note the 302 uses 2 different weights for balance depending on the year motor you get.
I am not up on the other 351's / 400 and the big blocks.
You will have to check on the frame mounts if what you have will work with the motor you get, most likely not.
