Thumbs up Performance chips

Has anyone put a performance chip into a 1995 Explorer? If so, was it easy to do and what difference did it make? I know very little about this stuff so any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi ka..,
I put a powerchip and a highflow air filter to my 95-4 litre.

The responce in the car is definitely better, and it feels more fresh.
Both the engine and the gearing feels better.

The mounting of the chip was a bit troublesome, as some if the plastic guides had to be removed inside the computer housing. If this is not done properly, the chip is beeing bent out of position when the computer is reinstalled, followed by a bad contact between the chip and board, and prevents the engine to start.

I also had to file away some of the outer edge on the actual chip so that the height was reduced.

Now it works great. However it was not so easy as I thougth it should be, but it is worth it.

I was thinking of something like that -- only for my 2000 model. After i saw you *have* to use premium unleaded, screw it. Doesn't pay if you ask me.
