Dead Cylinder ?
I have a 95 f350 7.3 and when cranking it sounds like a dead skip, It runs fine and doesn't smoke or maybe it sounds fine ? I picked it up as a no runner and don't have any history on it

May not be a low cylinder. Might just be you're hearing the null in contribution as discussed here:
