I was scrounging in the junkyard today getting parts for my Subaru that's not running and got distracted in the Bumpside and Dentside section of the yard. I picked up a clutch linkage rod (is that the part that's called the z-bar?) that goes down through the floor from the clutch pedal assembly. Mine is pretty worn. Anyway, while I was in that manual truck I glanced around and my covetous eyes fell upon the transfer case shift ****. I had to have it, so it came home with me too.
Now my question is, what years or other factors determine which of these ***** came in a truck? They both have the NP205 shift pattern on them. The left one is the one from my Bronco and the right one is the "new" one. I wanted it because it more closely matched the shape and texture of the shift **** I have on my T18 and my lizard brain likes the rounded shape and smooth texture better under hand.
