Gents, newb here. My '89 F150 5.0 M/T that I'm rebuilding has a replacement EECM from the previous owner that I believe is mismatched. Its been tedious trying to find the correct replacement. Based on the data in the jpegs below, can anyone (perhaps "SubFord?") ascertain the proper Ford EECM engineering/parts number for this setup? Thanks in advance!
I assume the OP edited the first post to add that but the VIN and data sticker shows it as a 5.0L (code N) and a Mazda M5OD (code M).
That's correct. It's a 5spd 5.0 4wd. It's all original except the ecm is in question. After calling several Ford dealerships to crosscheck and verify correct ecm, they gave me E8TZ-12A650-CPA. I simply wanted to verify with some you more experienced Ford techs before I source a replacement. The current one I have now - from the ecm data plate: is E8TF-12A650-AE2B. The truck runs OK but has a slightly erratic idle and fast engine decrease between shifts which makes for a somewhat harsh clutch re-engagement. (It has a new engine, rebuild xmsn, and driveline. Rear end is original and has greater than normal backlash in the rear diff) FWIW.
Cheers!
