rear bed reflectors

Has anyone seen these for a 72 that do not have the chrome bezel? I have two reflectors, but one is cracked. Everything I have found so far has the bezel and my truck is a plain Custom trim. I will keep searching.

I looked at the reflectors on my 70 f250 and it has one of each. I got this truck off the original owner in 1996 and never noticed it.

Weren’t all the reflector elements the same, whether they had the chrome bezel or not? Or are yours completely flat around the perimeter, with no recess for the bezel?

This article shows the different trim levels, scroll down to figure #53, it shows the reflectors without the chrome trim, it was for the base models:

Mine have flat edges all around.

See there, though, I don’t call that a flat edge. I call it a ridge all the way around that looks like it would receive the edge of the chrome.
I’m not intimately familiar enough with these to know that that’s the case, but that’s exactly the ridge I was visualizing when I was making the previous comment.
So to my eyes, chrome or no chrome, it looks like the same reflector.

From Green72f250 link above from Fordi shows separate part numbers for bezel and no bezel I would guess they are different. They might have same measurements for the reflector but they do not come apart to interchange. I only say that after pulling the one off my 70 f250 to see if they did come apart. The 72 on the left and 70 on the right.

The two off the 72 f250 show a different part number on the back.

That number on the back is the Engineering ID number. It is not the parts counter number from the MPC.

Thanks for checking.
That’s interesting though, that they don’t come apart. I’ll have to look for the ones I have in a box that were specifically for the old Broncos. bought them new from the Ford dealer in about 79 or 80.
Very possibly the same part as was used on the full-size pick ups as well.
But I thought the chrome bezel was a separate item. If it had been in your case, that would also explain the two different part numbers. Where the reflector might be the same, but one box comes with a bezel and the other doesn’t.
Sounds like that’s not the case either way though.
It also looks like the two of yours have a slightly different curvature. Could just be the angle of the camera, but that’s what it looks like from here.
Curiouser and curiouser, as we used to say. 😉
