Hi there, I"m looking into getting a new cab for my 65 F250 4x4, problem is - It has the old style floorpan and cab mounts with the step inside the door - but has the 65-66 fresh air heater which I understand is different from previous years. I would like to keep this truck as original as possible (as far as looks etc goes) and a 3/4 ton 4x4 cab and above for 65-66 is tough to find - I know where a few older cabs are located that would work, but the heater is different. Would it be very hard to modify the kickpanel where the heater gets the air and the mounting holes so I can keep the original heater (and original look)? Otherwise I'll probably keep looking for a while. Thanks for any input!
I might be wrong, but if I'm not mistaken, the induction tube for the "DeLuxe" fresh air heater option used the R/H vent hole and a inductuin tube, or fresh air duct replaces the "grille" thingee.
I don't believe there is any cutting up required in 65 & 66 body.
R/H Vent will still vent, except it do it through hearer plenum, and you can "blend" heat, or turn heat off for cool air. So I'd say I don't think there is any altering involved. It's a matter of using the right pieces to hook it up, I believe.

I'm still not sure if I have this right - Are there two different options on the 65-66 heater? I said fresh air heater, but I might have a different one - because I have the heater conecting to the r/h side, and below it I have another vent for fresh air - I"m not sure if that changes it or what, but are you saying that I can get some kind of piece that will fit the old cab style to my newer heater? This is the style heater I have in now:
So you have more cab choices, I have put a 65 long bed body {f 100 2wheel drive} On a 72 f 250 chassis.
2wd has rear cab mounts on inside of frame, 4wd is on outside
after removing the gas tank I found both sets of body mount holes just had to complete the out side holes through the bottom panel.
I have several 64,65and 66s and the 64 has a step inside the door and the 65 and 66 the floor is the same all the way across
