Hi, I would like to know what type of tailgate latches are these?

They look homemade to me. I don't think that's a good place on the tailgate for the strap.

Yup, they get the job done but when you close them some times they get caught in.

Are they on your truck? I would think the tailgate would get bent if you stood on it.
