Hi, I would like to know what type of tailgate latches are these?

They look homemade to me. I don't think that's a good place on the tailgate for the strap.

Yup, they get the job done but when you close them some times they get caught in.

Are they on your truck? I would think the tailgate would get bent if you stood on it.

As big as our trucks are you would think people would see us stopped! Happened in June to me, except I was driving 55mph and the driver who rear ended me was going near 100 mph.
