Where does the vacuum enter the interior to feed the ac controls? I recently started working on this truck and I think someone really messed this thing up.
I removed the vacuum manifold from the rear of the control, there is no vacuum to the black hose. The check valve has been replaced with a “T” fitting and I am getting the correct check valve tomorrow.
Hopefully someone has section 12 -page 00 & 03 of the manual.
I have the Ford electrical & vacuum manual but no service manual.

Correct
You should see the little black vacuum tube go through the firewall somewhere near where the A/C hoses go through
The one way valve that the hose is attached to needs to be checked
That tees over to the intake vacuum tree
Check your underhood VECI (vacuum diagram)
The check valve is good. One side is connected to the vacuum source from the vacuum tree, the other goes to the actuator blend door and the other one goes to a panel under the insulation which I removed only to find it dead ending with a very small metered orifice.
I removed the right kick panel and traced a black & white hose going up with wires going through a metal panel that I thought went into the cowl duct panel. It does not.
Many thanks for the response.
I finally found it! It was on the bottom of the harness barely sticking out coming out of the plenum. It has been broken probably for the last 15 or so years.
I have been working on this thing for the last 6 months bringing it back to life and saving it from a visit to the crusher.
It now should have another 10 years of service left in it.
