Stackable Air Cleaner Spacers - any suggestions?
I need a total of 3" of spacer.
I can't find a 3" spacer anywhere So it looks like I need to find Stackable Spacers so I can get the desired 3" lift that I need for my 14" Air Cleaner so that it wont hit the HEI electronic ignition which sits much higher than the factory distributor that was in my 1965 390 CID engine.
Thank You
Like I said previously.... I have been trying to find them. That means I have looked everywhere that comes up on google search and have not found any.
Actually I did find "a set of 4 different height spacers" but it did NOT say Stackable anywhere in the ad.
***I need a 3" air filter spacer <or> Stackable air filter spacers - Does anyone know where I can find either of them?
Thank You

The ID is 5.016"
Wall thickness is .258
All you need remove is just under .125, leaving you with plenty of material to sink into the gasket.
Swerving suggestion.
Check out these air cleaner spacers from Summit Racing. These are designed for air cleaners and carbs with a standard 5.125" (5-1/8") Holley-style base.
I use these on a dirt modified with a Holley carb. If you went with the 2" and 1.25" spacer that will net 3". I know that doesn't add up so read here>. You'll be placing the O-rings towards the carb on both spacers thus the air cleaner will sit .250" inside the top spacer. Then the top spacer's O-ring will sit flush against the bottom spacer and the bottom spacer's O-ring will rest on the air-cleaner flange of the carb. No air cleaner gasket will be needed the O-rings will do the sealing. This will net 3" raised.
I don't know the specifics but why not try an offset base air cleaner bottom? They make those to help clear the massive cap of an HEI distributor.
Also, how about a carb spacer so you don't need 3" of air cleaner spacers?
If you have further questions feel free to shoot me a PM. I'll be happy to help!

my carburetor is a:
Holley Street Warrior 600cfm - model 4160
with that..... Give me part numbers for the air filter spacers and for those o-rings you are talking about? I measure the top opening on this carb and i believe it would be called a: 5 1/8" opening.
My best pictures are of the Bottom of the current Air Filter Base (see attached) Inside to inside measurement.
Thank You

I like this idea but my chamfering ability (and I am guessing as to what you mean on this particular part) may not come out well.
I would really like to purchase the 14" air filter system that I am eyeballing, to install on this engine!!
Then it would become a 390/390 427lb ft (if i can get it to stop smoking when running)

See the "blue" highlighted words/numbers in my post #5. Those are called hyperlinks. Click on them and they will take you directly to the parts on our site.
Yes, that carb would have a 5-1/8" air filter flange. The O-rings are included with the spacers I'm referencing and are what seals them instead of a gasket.
That blue air cleaner you have pictured looks cool but is a massive drop. It appears to be a 2-3" drop which will hinder clearing an HEI. I understand wanting to get away from the current tiny air cleaner. If it's the look you're after you could always take a standard air cleaner, paint it Ford blue, then put the 390 High Performance decal on yourself. We have the SUM-239432 14" by 3" reuseable filter with a flat-offset base designed to clear HEI distributors. That may negate the entire need for spacers.
I think we're getting somewhere. Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
