Neutral safety switch

I have a 1992 f-150 4x4 with a 5.0 I am going nuts looking for my neutral safety switch. It is NOT on the shaft on the side of the trans so it may be on the steering column, but WHERE and would it be the same one that goes on the trans. No one seems to sell anything besides the one for the trans. PLEASE HELP

Telling us what transmission is in the truck would be helpful. What is the code on the driver’s side door pillar?
