I took my 1985 Ford F-150 in that I just got to get saftied. It needs all steel brake lines from front to back (man, they are rusty!), 2 tie rod ends, driver's side upper and lower balljoints, one leaf in the back (the top one) is missing part of it, windshield washer doesn't work, a couple holes in the floor and the back lights have a short in them.
They gave me a price of $600 (Canadian) to replace the brake lines, replace the spring pack (with a used one) do the tie rod ends and ball joints. All the parts and labour are included except the ball joints and tie rod ends I am getting for them because I can get them discounted. Is this a good price? This also includes taxes and the safety certificate. I think it would be around $440 American dollars.
I am going to fix the lights and windshield washer pump myself. I am also going to attempt the floor myself. What would be the best way to do the floor? I want to keep the truck for a while because it is in really good shape.
Any help and/or comments would really be appreciated. Thanks!
Welding in plates over the holes is best, but you can screw plates down with caulk to close them off, then lay the carpet back over them to hide it all.

Well, if Steve83 says its a good deal then it MUST BE! Thanks man! I will look closer at the holes and see where they are and go from there. What should I do exactly if the holes are at the seams? (Which I think they are!) Thanks again man!

P.S. Nice avatar........you're Bronco I am assuming?!?!
$440 is a pretty good deal. I did all that myself, and it is a big job. I saved a lot of money, but I put in a lot of man hours
when I fixed my floor, I welded in my a piece of 18 guage sheet metal. I used some putty on the holes I couldn't weld shut. Seems like the driver's side gets a lot more rusted.
Make sure if you weld it, clean the panels as much as possible for a good weld.
As steve said, plates, chalk and self tapping screws work pretty good too
