There is a truck behind my house that appears to be dumped, just recently it is a 87-91 F150 4x4, it has been sitting for several days now. Technically it is on a public road off to the side, in the middle of nowhere. It's pretty much trashed, the bed is filled with garbage, doors are unlocked, that's not my concern though. Is there any line to call to see if this vehical has been stolen? There are several parts that I would love to grab if it has been truely dumped, I don't want to break any laws though.

I went back and took a look around in it. It was kind of strange, most of it was filled with trash, the ignition was fully intacted so it didn't look like it had been hot wired at all. The plates are still there. It was in pretty bad shape, but there are plety of parts that are savageable.
I will deffantly call and have them run the plates tomorrow.
Call the cops and report it as an abandon vehicle. It's not yours to part out. It makes no difference if it's stolen or not, you can't just go grab parts off of it. Also, you have no business going inside it and looking around unless you own it; stay clear and keep outta trouble.
