duh, I've been thinkin about buyin a new speed-o-meter with one on the exterior not outside the car just like I can't really explain but I was wonderin how would I be able to do that, I have a 1992 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition 4.0L
I just also wanted to know what the real top speed of the truck really is that's the reason for installing one, even tho the speed-o-meter says 85. Thanks. If anyone can help me with that it would be greatly aprreciated!
as far as i know the top speed on my 91 2 door is 106 mph accoring to my gps but i had to slow down bc a statey was 1/8 mile down with his laser gun aimed right at me
I would suggest doing like jc - get a GPS and read it that way. It would be a lot cheaper and easier than trying to tie in a secondary speedometer. Plus you can use it for more purposes than that.
Most Fords for the last 15 years (that I know of) have had speed sensors on them and limit you to a certain top speed taht averages around 108mph. The only way to get above that is to get a chip...
Well, I will see about gettin a chip but top is 108 sounds ok, yea I hit 85 on the speed-o-meter last night on the mainstreet over here in my town lol couldn't hear anything, Alright well I might try a chip but if anyone has any other ideas please feel free thanks.
