I have a 2001 Excursion and spent the week end camping. I could find no way to keep the interior lights from coming on when the doors were opened or shut. (very disturbing to your sack-mate when you need to answer nature's call and she/he doesn't)
I resorted to removing the fuse every night but that disables the door locks and the windows as well.
Does anybody have an elegant and simple solution to this "design" flaw?
I can't believe that Ford doesn't have have some sort of over-ride switch. Chevy does.
You can fiddle with the switches on each of the overhead lights to achieve this. If you put the rocker switches in between the positions "on" and "on with open doors" - right in the middle - then that light stays off.
I do this to keep the light off my kids' faces when they're napping and I open the doors.
