About to order an 2024 F350 CCSWB, SRW 6.7- do I add the heavy duty front suspension option?

I added the snow plow/camper package, along with the high capacity tow package on my 250 with 6.7. It doesn’t ride like a caddy, but I don’t think it’s al that bad either. I did swap my shocks out and put larger tires on and that helped some too. But I wanted the highest rated springs though, and I would do it again if I bought another.

No, 5th wheel prep does not change the springs or any other suspension part, just adds the bed mount pucks and the trailer plug in the bed.
Camper package is for slide-in campers, not trailer towing.

I still say, you have no need to add any different rate springs for your stated usage.

Wandering through the sales yard while waiting for service I see 2024 F350s and F250s both sporting the same front springs: LC3C-5310-AKB. All show snowplow prep and higher GVWR options installed per the window sticker. The 250s show 11,100 GVWR and the 350s 12,400(?).

It appears to me the front axle travel on the 24s is slightly more than our 2020 F250 CCSB - don't recall what the springs were before I swapped them for Rough Country 1.5" leveling coils to combat the tendency to hit the front bump-stops. Drove a 2024 F350 CCLB last week to humor the salesman and the ride did seem more compliant in terms of front axle travel. That's what caused me to stick my head into the wheel well and check the tags on all the springs.

Snow plow prep on a diesel 250 and 350 will end up with the same front coils. Those coils you saw are the highest rate available at 5990 (or 6k). Heavy service on the OP's truck would give him 5600 springs.

...OK, just found the take-offs from the 2020 F250 and they are LC3C-5310-AMA. Thanks for the detail on the snowplow and HD coils. Assuming the AMAs are 5200 or so, that explains the tendency to hit the stops. But also seems on visual comparison that the front axle travel is slightly more on the 2024s... might just be a slight lift in the front from the 5990s.

My 250 has "standard" coils up front and it rides like pure trash. Wife comments on it most of the times she rides in it. Honestly I don't like it either. With a big trailer behind it the ride is pretty awesome. But running unloaded it will beat your kidneys into submission. This is one area where GM is lightyears ahead of Ford.

I cannot fathom daily driving a 350 with camper package/snowplow prep group package coils on it. My goodness.... and then 80 PSI tire pressure on top of that. You guys must enjoy punishment.

You need to air down the tires when not hauling anything, that helps. Besides, I'm coming from a 2002 f250 so this 2019 rides like a Cadillac compared to that last super duty I drove for 20 years. Even my wife doesn't complain about the 350 and she refused to ride in the 250 because it was so rough.

Yep, 5200's, same as my 250. I haven't yet looked closely at the '23+ trucks, they could have increased up travel some but also the 5990 springs would provide some additional height. I've read up to an 1" over the 5200 springs.

Check it out for 2024. On my 2017 F350, I think the camper package added 1 step up with heavier front springs, a rear sway bar, and slide in camper certification.

My 2017 F350 doesn’t ride Iike a car, but it ain’t bad. I enjoy driving the beast. Recommended front tire pressure is 60 psi.

lol my 250 came with the camper package....was rough. removed rear sway bar, removed oem overload for carli add a pack, switched to fox shocks, switched to ICON dual rate front springs, switched to Tremor front sway bar, added 37's on 17's. rides great. (now i just wanna find a 2wd crew cab long bed f150 lmao)

I’m actually pretty happy with the way mine rides with the heavy front and rear suspension. Being a diesel helps some, and the shocks and somewhat aired down tires when not towing also helps. Sure it ain’t no caddy, but it doesn’t come close to beating me or my wife up when driving it. I love daily driving it.

All this talk of Camper Packages has me confused because I never remembered that being an option on the Ford Build site so I doubled checked and sure enough...Camper Packages are not options for F250/F350 SRW in KR, Platinum, and Limited. I guess Ford believes us snoots who bought those trims prefer to sleep in the Westin as opposed to in the bed of our trucks.

So now I'm just confused on what are "standard" front springs on a F350. I'm sure Ford chooses a "standard" spring based on weight/towing specs/engine/etc. so a standard front spring is dependent on what trim and options you choose. I assume the F250 has a wider range of options because it's only a 3/4 ton truck (yeah right) while the F350 is already built as a 1-ton so not much more room to go up in carrying capacity...is this an accurate statement?

But my point is, I now have no idea what are standard front springs for a 2024 F350 CCSB SRW Platinum w/6.7 SO without Snow Plow Prep package. Anyone know?

I'm running my tires at 52 PSI. They're 35s so I've got a lot of sidewall to soften the ride a little. Still trying to hold on for 8 seconds like a rodeo cowboy.

What Ford ought to do is have an air seat option like on the semi trucks. That would sell like hotcakes.

Previously (and likely still) you couldn’t add the camper package if you also had 20” wheels selected. Those trims come with 20” wheels.

I don’t know for sure, but I would guess the 6.7 350 without snow plow would come with 5600 lb springs.

As far as holding on for 8 seconds, mine rides nothing like that. Of course that’s all subjective, but no one that’s rode with me has even mentioned anything about it riding harsh.

I test drove a F350 Platinum Tremor 6.7HO with the 35s. I thought I would love it but passed on it because it wasn't the "stiffer" ride I wanted in a Super Duty. Even though the ride height is pretty much the same as a non-Tremor, I thought the suspension had too much "give" in it which was like the 8-second ride lasting the entire 20 min test drive. Loved the truck but passed on the ride. I'm sure I'm in the minority for this thinking...
