Question Buzzing from underneath the dash

Hey guys - I've got a buzzing sound coming from inside my dash. It only occurs at certain points while accelerating (from a dead stop, if I give it a little gas, for instance, when I'm accelerating to 15mph, it buzzes for a second) When it buzzes, I can feel the vibration in the gas pedal.

Any ideas?

Check the enite length of the throttle cable. I had the same thing happen. Mine was bound up and tugging against air filter.

Mine does the same thing at around 1500 rpm (or 40 mph). I have absolutely no idea except that you (or I) would need to tear apart the dash to find it. It is something I can live with I guess.

Sounds like Willie and I have the same problem - I'll check the throttle cable, see if anything's out of the ordinary.

The voices don't want me talking to you - they say that you are the reason for all the problems, and that they're going to "take care" of you. Would you like to hang out sometime?

No can do - the voices don't like the lake - lakes are where dragons live.

Well, it absolutely won't buzz when it's in park, only in drive. Makes it a little more difficult to get under there and check it out .

I might go noodle with it in a few minutes.

Is it a buzzing noise like a buzzer or something else. I have noticed something in my dash too (I think left of the steering column, but haven't pinpointed it yet). Mine sounds kind of "tinny" or almost like an electrical charge or shorting sound. Not real loud, but definitely noticeable only when driving, not in park.

How loud is the buzzing sound? I am hearing one that is pretty faint when accelerating from a stop. Seems to go away or get lost with regular engine noise at about 40 mph. Service writer said she couldn't hear it. Have you pinpointed anything?

I can't say what your problem is, but it seems to not be the dangerous kind. A relative found a diamond back rattler was the cause of his dash buzz. A friend cranked up his '49 pickup one day and discovered the annoying buzz in his dashboard half way to work was... a hornet's nest ... and the were not very happy. He abandoned the vehicle before it even stopped in the middle of a corn patch.

It may also be the ride leveling system....check that..up underneath where the passengers right toes would be, there is a switch to turn off the ride leveling....if you vehicle has it...check that out, if it has it, turn it off and see if the buzzing stops.

Good luck,

Milkman
