Hey all,
I have a 1977 f-250 super duty rear wheel drive, trailer special, 460 with a c6 trans.
one ply is cracked and the center on the remaining ply’s are getting pretty thin and I’m worried about the main leaf breaking. So I’m looking to replace the rear leaf spring packs. The are 3” wide, 5 springs per side, and I believe they were rated for the heavier spring rating (2450)
rock auto and a few other sites no longer have listings for the replacement springs for the 2wd trucks. So where can I find some, or would this be a good time to upgrade my factory rear springs to something else? Maybe leaf’s off a newer truck, etc.
thanks in advance
I checked there and didn’t see a listing for 2wd trucks, although I thought I had seen the previously.
I checked out the Dorman site and their listings are for both, are the rear springs the same for 2wd and 4wd?

I did yeah, they are 3” wide, not sure on the thickness due to corrosion and rust, but I figure they would have been rated for 2450 pounds, but they don’t need to be that heavy anymore. Something is telling me they are 3” wide on the 78-79 and the 77.5, but I could be wrong on that.
