Need help with a fuel problem

I recently changed the fuel filters on my 2016 F250 Super Duty.
It has the 6.7 diesel. I have changed the filters many times before. I followed the directions to a tee. When I finished bleeding the system, it took an unusually long time to start but it did start. I left the truck running and checked for leaks and there were none
I went in the house and a few hours later, I went back out to try and see if it starts right up. I was shocked to see it was leaking diesel fuel! With some investigation, the leak was dripping towards the rear of the gas tank. I put a huge pan underneath to catch remaining fuel.
Went to bed and went out fist thing in the morning. The leak seems to have stopped. I went out a few times today and checked and it was not leaking. I decided to cycle through the bleeding again. Then I started truck and it took a long time to start. I let it run for a long time and really inspected for leaks and there is no leaks. The long time to start has me worried. Any suggestions as to what I could do?

Only thing I can think of is one of the lines coming from the tank is loose which can cause the leak and also allow air to enter the lines causing the hard start.

Motorcraft filters? First thing I'd do is remove, inspect, reinstall and test again.

They are not Motorcraft filters, my first mistake. I think your suggestion is spot on. I'm going to do that today. I've already ordered new filters and the frame mount lower canister just in case I cracked it by tightening to tight.

My only concern is filters would not cause this; "With some investigation, the leak was dripping towards the rear of the gas tank."

There are 4 items on the top of the pre-17 trucks. The pickup, there is no in tank pump, the return, the overflow and the rollover valve. Those are the 4 locations fuel could leak from. Changing the lower filter should have zero impact on any of those 4 items. However, it the pickup is bad, it could cause hard starting, and leak due to siphoning effect where it draws fuel away from the filter. You can see all these parts with a flashlight and mirror.

I just pulled both filters and examined them and reinstalled. I seen no issues. Now, it will not even start. There's no fuel leaking. I changed filters to begin with because it was time. I do every 10k miles. There's a long metal bracket that goes from the front of the tank to the back. Because of this, I cannot see anything! I'm thinking I'll have to remove that plate.

I would go to a Ford dealer and get a known OEM filter kit and reinstall. Too much counterfeit junk out there.

I once had some spooky stuff going on….so I checked my fuel quick disconnects….tried to remove the quick disconnect with out squeezing the tabs…one was able to disconnect.. which means it wasn’t seated all the way…I lubed it and re installed it hearing a clear pop…after which you can’t disconnect it wi with out squeezing the tabs…problem solved

Ok, I did go to my Ford dealer and purchased both the lower and upper fuel filters. This didn't help at all. Now, the truck won't even start. I'm wondering if I should pull the shield that goes from the frame rail to the bottom of the box. With it in place, I cannot see anything on top of the tank. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Primed it at least 6 to 10 times key on, key off (without attempting a restart) and until you heard no my buzz or gurgling?

Batteries have a good charge?
