Been having some difficulty with the driver door. The door sems to sag just a little bit, not sure how the best way to fix this would be, to get the door to shut Tight (second click) I have to lift and Slam it shut.
Driver door Lock does not always want to lock from the outside using the key.
I took some picture from the inside of the driver door, looking up at the internal door lock and opening and latching assembly. I am adding a picture of one particular issue I found, where the blue arrow is pointing there is a bolt coming thru from the outside, into and thru a piece of square metal on the inside of the door.
"What.".. is the square metal piece?
The square metal piece spins along with the bolt that it is attached to. I am guessing that metal piece is broken off from something in there?
I am also attaching a picture of the bolt I am talking about.
I would like to know what this is so I can get the door linkage and everything to work as it is supposed to.
Take a good look at the underside where the cab support is. Also where the floor and side meet below the hinge area. If it is rusty, damaged, etc. it can/will have an effect on the door closing.
I loosened these 8 bolts today and tried different scenarios of loosened and tightened bolts to get the door adjusted the way I want it and so it will close and catch the second click (without slamming the door) - I was not successful except I learned quite a bit on what not to do.
*Is the and Online step by step video or an Online pictures tutorial with step by step directions on how to move the door from one position to another ?
There are a variety of manuals. Since you have a 1961, I'd recommend the 1961 Shop Manual. Mine is for Ford and Mercury trucks but one for just Ford trucks is fine, too, and more common I believe. They do go into the adjustment procedure reasonably well in a few simple steps. One thing I do is completely remove the striker plate on the back edge of the door opening (the lock pillar) and make all my adjustments until I'm happy with the fit of the door regardless of the striker. Then install the striker and adjust it which is also covered in the same shop manual.
As they point out in Step One
1. The door must be properly aligned before adjusting the striker plate. The striker plate is not meant to correct door sag. (bolding is theirs).
Since the 1962 and 1963 shop manuals were just a thin supplemental of changes this is the one to have for both of those years as well.

Questions:
1) there are shop manuals and there are supplemental shop manuals, what is the Supplemental shop manual?
2) Is there much difference from the 1961 to the 1962 F series trucks? I found several 1961 shop manuals. I have the 1962 truck.
Yes, your handle threw me off with the 1961 on the end of it. See my post that you quoted. I covered what the supplementals are what you'll want to get.
I was able to find a 1961 shop manual on eBay today for my 1962 f250..
I am guess that there or hinge bolts Inside the doors that I will be able to work with to get the doors to shut properly, I will wait for the shop manual to arrive.
Wow, you already have it up for sale on Facebook Marketplace?
I put a high price on it kind of hoping it does not sell. I dont want to sell But.. One day, round trip. is approx. 2 1/2 hours drive to 3 1/4 hours drive depending on how heavy the traffic is / 70 miles just to work on the truck - I have done about 12 trips so far. This is wearing my own vehicle out and myself. I really enjoy working it though.
(I have already spent about 50 hours working on it).
