460 Distributor Drive gear

460 Distributor Drive gear
Installing a new distributor in my 92 460. The original distributor has a phenolic/plastic drive gear. The new one has a hardened steel gear. Should I swap the gear from old to new? I'm pretty sure the engine has a stock cam.

The original gear should be cast iron (you have non roller cam engine)
That means you should use a cast iron gear and not steel
That steel gear will tear up the cam gear
