And found out the OEM hot pipe O-ring was gone! Must have fell out when I removed it last July when I installed my S&S DPK kit and never noticed... SMH man...
WTF.... That's why I was smelling exhaust inside the truck at stop lights with the heater on...
Was dirty as hell back there by the.turbo...
Cleaned it off good before install...
Anyways, I used Pusher Intakes hot pipe install as a guide...
👇👇👇👇
As per Pusher's instructions as per the video, I pre-installed the coupler onto the turbo adapter. I also used silicone spray per Pusher as well. Silicone spray works fantastic. I set the SBE logo right with one of the slots in the adapter for the C-clip. The clamp also got mounted at 180 degrees from the logo and facing to right.
The clamp has the Flexlock nut on that I ordered off EBay... I'll provide a link.
Well................its about time (j/k) . Sure looks good, I'm surprised you never had a CEL or noticed a lack of boost with the o-ring seal missing. But that shouldn't be the cause of smelling exhaust in the cab...this is the intake (clean air) side. Perhaps you have an exhaust leak at the turbo piping?
Here's a link for the work step I bought for the S&S DPK kit last year... Not cheap but worth every penny IMO. It's in the pics I posted, the Tech Step by Bullet Proof Diesel.

Well I'll see where I'm at when it comes to the exhaust smell... Thanks Jim...
I wanted it for that bottom clamp that once on, would be a beyotch to get to that nut if it loosened up due to the heat because it is hot by the turbo there... I only placed a Flexloc nut on that bottom clamp.. They screw on very tough... So since the others are so easy to get to, I said screw it and used the nylon lock nuts the clamps came with.

Look at some pictures of the exhaust piping...from the manifolds, thru the turbo, etc., there is a network of tubing under the hood. maybe keep an eye out for black soot at all joints and gasket areas.

some gunk degreaser will help with that under the hood residue sir.
Otherwise I like the new pipe.
Hahaha... I'm sure it would but I get a new application of oil from Carwell every year under the hood to combat the effects of salt up here in WNY... they spray the harnesses and under the hood. Up here that oily residue has a purpose. Plus I like getting my hands really dirty when I work under the hood... reminds me of my childhood when I helped my Dad with the problematic sewer pipe coming out of the house... he would rent a snake and he would man the snake and I would guide it in. When it came out full of you know what, he would say, "What's the matter? It's only schitt... it's not going to hurt you..." yeah I wear gloves now when I've done sewer work but at my young age, who knew?
Thanks Scott... you gotta be careful whenever you mention something to me... there's no telling what I'm gonna say.
