Our trucks never came with any kind of hood insulation from the factory. Why do you feel the need to add insulation? The only real reason the factory adds it is to reduce noise, which is not typically something you're going to control well in our old rattily pickups.

If you want to augment the factory setup, there are these or similar products that in combinations would seem to address your issue, but your budget may not align:

It would be far more effective to add additional thermal barrier and insulation on the firewall and floor, and the roof and back of the cab if you live in a hot sunshine area, than to try to mess with the underside of the hood. Those would be the areas that the heat is coming from, not the hood. My 2c.

Agreed. I bought an abs insulated firewall pad that fit perfectly and looks original. It really cut down on noise and engine heat.

True, since most of the heat comes in the cabin from the firewall and my floors already have insulation.
