'99 e-250 econoline abs light parking light

The parking light and abs light turned on today at the same time as I was backing out. I took the rear wheels off, drums spin fine, and everything looks good on the drums. Shoes looks good. The parking brake engaged, disengaged fine. We checked both sides. Parking lever seems to be swinging all the way up. Parking brake works fine. We scanned it, no codes.

Van doesn't have abs, there is no sensors, or abs valve connected to the brake lines. Looks like it came that way from the factory. Just wondering why the abs light would come on now? Had the van 20 years, and never saw abs light on the dash before.

Could the abs light have something to do with the smog monitors?

The warning lights might indicate low brake fluid in your van.

Yes, the brake fluid is low. Looks like something started leaking driver side front caliper.

Thanks, I checked out the lines, no braided lines on my van. Just solid tubing in circles with wire shielding

I thought that was the thread. There was a recent thread lamenting how the front left hard brake line is subject to rusting out in these vans and Ford doesn’t stock drop in replacements.
