Well, that's supposed to be correct. According to SMP.

Found one of these broken off and a loose connector
Also one wire was loose on the connector. For the time being I zipped tied it to the coil and placed the cut end of the zip tie behind the wire and it ran great. Went and got a load of slag (more than I asked for&#129318 but was at gvwr and no issues at all.

I moved my discussion of the fitment issues I've had with this pattern of aftermarket radiator to the thread on my own truck.

1) Drain valve location
2) Lower radiator hose

So truck is still running good. Has a small oil leak but not a major concern. I'd like to know where it's coming from, but problem for another day.
My question today concerns the two speed shift. Number on it says it's a dana 113702. Is there a rebuild kit? New motor or something you can rebuild these with?
Redid the ground. Now getting 12v on either side based on switch position, but motor isn't making any noise.

Never had one apart, but I've read they get gummed up. 10W oil, if you pull the cover and clean it. There's an excellent video on someone taking one apart and cleaning it somewhere.

I tried to pull the cover but seemed pretty well glued on.. may. Try and pull the motor or the whole assembly off.
Seems like 500-600 bucks for a replacement.

There is a small circuit board or a relay switch in them that gets corroded. I had to replace one on one of my trucks. About a 30 minute job from start to finish. Look for a cover around where the wires go into the two speed unit.

This thread with great pics is the one I was thinking of:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...mechanism.html

That thread contains a link to a vid, too.

A couple nice pics of a unit here:

Good info... Mine appears to be a sealed unit. No oil fill /drain plug. Found one for a out 400 online.
Will wait and see.

I don't get any hits in the MPC for "Dana" in the rear axle section, only the transmissions. If you're seeing Dana on rear axle parts, perhaps it's been swapped.

The decode says Eaton 16244. I tried looking up parts for the two speed shifter but I didn't have any luck.

Fine: challenge accepted

Eaton 16244 can be a bit misleading. I started here in the Illustrations, where there's only one "Eaton" that's a 2-speed and not a Tandem:

Sidebar: there's both an Eaton 16244 axle, and a 16244 Oil Filter, but that oil filter isn't for the 16244 axle, LOL:

Anyway, following the guide above to Illustrations Section 40, Pg. 4 shows the axle but no 2-speed motor:

But, back up the the Illustrations Section 40 Index, I scrolled down to the very next page, and I found "Shift System" . . .

. . . which pointed me to Section 42, Pg. 8:

Which is the ol' familiar electric shift box that -- from what I see in the MPC -- all Eaton 2-speed non-Tandem axles use. There are variants, but "4062" covers them.

All the various variants of the Eaton 16244 (I assume mostly reduction ratio differences) point to the same Section 40.1 Parts List: 101, and the Electric Shift Assy. is right here in the list:

B9TT-4062-A

I didn't run down the parts for the thing, but it looks like (text) Section 41 has 'em.

Wine time, TTYL.

[later]

After this follows a whole page of part Nos. for servicing the electric shifter.

This is the part I was talking about that usually goes out on 2 speed axles. It's what I replaced on mine.

I went to the local International truck place and bought the part since it was in an International truck.
