89-95 rebuild kit on 96 e4od

Hello everyone I bought a rebuild kit for 89-95 e4od transmission but as soon as me and my cousin pulled it we found on the identification tag that it was a 96 year transmission, I was wondering if I could still use the 89-95 rebuild kit on it or would I have to return it and get one for a 96-97 e4od?

Get the right kit. What would you do when you find out some of the seals/gaskets are wrong?

Being a 96, the front pump is different, accumulater diiferent, you need the right kit.

bonus it’s a 96, should have all hard parts that you would normally upgrade in the older trans.
