BEM locking cap issue

Got the BEM caps about a year ago.

while adding def today I noticed the cap has a nylon nut, which does not have proper thread engagement.

All I need is for this nut to fall into th def tank and lodge into the def pump.

bad cap design…they should have used a longer bolt so the threads would clear the nylon nut.

So I tried to turn the nut with out jamming the lock mechanism

i him I got just short of a turn on it and the threads cleared the nylon .

Really was no worry with it falling in and jamming the pump inlet, it has a screen on the pump that wouldn't let any debris like that from blocking it.
But even so, seems short sighted of the maker of the locking caps.

I checked mine at lunch and the bolt is definitely engaging the nylon. Glad you got yours corrected.

So, I have been planning on doing BEM Caps, but in doing a little more research, I found a solution that appears to be designed more robustly. It is a tad more costly, but the fuel and def caps are keyed alike and keyed uniquely vs same key for all BEM Caps (or so I've heard). I have no affiliation but thought I'd put the link out there for anyone else interested. (I found this information over on a tremor forum.)
