Very cool! Glad after 14 years Gale finally got around to tearing down that 6.7 PSD and exploring it on video.

I was so excited when I saw this.

I ESPECIALLY loved when he pointed out how Ford faked out GM with the power numbers.

He's been on the Duramax for the LONGEST. I excited to see he finally got the 6.7 Powerstroke in his shop

He's got a contract to build Duramaxes for the military but yeah it was great to see that. He also mentioned he owns a new 6.7 Powerstroke.

I also learned the ceramic turbo bearings were replaced in for MY2013... did not know that.

So glad IH screwed up the 6.4 and 6.0, or Ford wouldn't have engineered their own engine.

I know there's still a lot of 7.3 love, I'd love to own an OBS 7.3 for a project truck (maybe one day), but how much longer has the 6.7 been made compared to the 7.3?

With a bit of help from AVL List GmbH on the design but they knew what was at stake... couldn't screw this up.

I'm curious why he would sit on it for 14 years. Probably they did scrutinize it back in the day but weren't ready or smart enough to comment on Ford's engineering.

He's been a pro GM guy. I recall GMC offered a turbo upgrade on the anemic 6.2 diesel as a dealer install that came from Banks and it still couldn't hold a candle to the less anemic International 6.9 that were in the Fords.

19941/2 to 2003 for the 7.3. Had one myself, cackle and all. When I first got it and heard the cackle I thought it had rod knock! LOL Had enough power to shatter the spyder gears in the 4.10 rear end. Current 6.7 is now on it's second generation with the 3rd being the HO version. So, 2011-19 for Gen 1, 2020-current for Gen2. The only Achilles on it IS the CP4. I have no complaints on mine at all.

My ceramic bearings turbo is still going, although only at 130,000 miles which isn't and shouldn't be a lot for this engine. Pickup was assembled 14 years ago this week. Although I admit, between the cold start mini table saw noise on occasion for at least the first five years and recurring sticking vanes problem (I think that's what was happening) for eight years, I'm a little surprised I still have my original job 1 turbo at this point.
