He's been a pro GM guy. I recall GMC offered a turbo upgrade on the anemic 6.2 diesel as a dealer install that came from Banks and it still couldn't hold a candle to the less anemic International 6.9 that were in the Fords.

19941/2 to 2003 for the 7.3. Had one myself, cackle and all. When I first got it and heard the cackle I thought it had rod knock! LOL Had enough power to shatter the spyder gears in the 4.10 rear end. Current 6.7 is now on it's second generation with the 3rd being the HO version. So, 2011-19 for Gen 1, 2020-current for Gen2. The only Achilles on it IS the CP4. I have no complaints on mine at all.

My ceramic bearings turbo is still going, although only at 130,000 miles which isn't and shouldn't be a lot for this engine. Pickup was assembled 14 years ago this week. Although I admit, between the cold start mini table saw noise on occasion for at least the first five years and recurring sticking vanes problem (I think that's what was happening) for eight years, I'm a little surprised I still have my original job 1 turbo at this point.
