Heater/Ac function cable

I have an 84 Bronco, w 351. I am trying to get the heat hooked up, but my selector cable isn't in there, or alteast I can't find it. It is the cable that does the defrost, or vent or floor. Can anyone tell me where it runs from so that I might be able to trace it back. Thanks
Woody

If it is like my 1990, it is behind the glove box. You can see it without even taking the glovebox out.

is it, looking to the rear from the front, in the left passenger rear corner? almost at the firewall on top of the heater core/vent fan box. I know I had a cable there for the air/vent/heat control that kept slidding off. I suspect it lost the keeper for it...I slide it back on and cinched a ziptie on the post, above it, to keep it in place.

More specifically, there is a pivot arm mounted on top of the heater box, which is behind the glove box; the cable connects from your vent controls to this arm and then goes along to the heater control valve. At least that is how it is on a 1990.

No that wasn't it, the one that is up on the post above the heater core is the cable that connects to the temperature control. Any other ideas.
thanks

There is no other cable. Those doors are controlled by vacuum.

not the doors, the slector on the dash. There are 2, one for the temperature and one for defrost, vent, or floor. I need to know where the cable for the defrost, vent and floor goes to. The other one for the temperature is the one you were talking about that goes above the heater core.

Thanks

The defrost/dash/floor selection on '80-86 and '89-96 is done by vacuum. It's only cable-operated on '87 & early '88 with the blue-illuminated A/C button in the top center of the panel.

Not on mine, it has a place to put the cable, and I know it isn't hooked up even to the vacum because when I switch the lever nothing happens. So right now it blows out of all three. I know this is making you guys crazy, but I just hope to get it fixed soon.
Thanks again for your help.

All the controls are built to accept cables, but they're NOT USED ON YOUR YEAR OF TRUCK.

Find the leaks in the hoses and patch or replace them. Try looking it up here.
