I did a search and did not find any new info- I liked the summit racing one I found BUT they longer have one for an 8.5" rear end- any ideas? There's nothing wrong with my factory one- just always looking to tinker with it- although I do remember-If it ain't broke don't "fix" it lol.
I thought it was " if it ain't broke fix it till it is" Any way is the 8.5 a typo cause it's 9.5, might be messing with your search. I used the cheapest cover I could find that has a drain plug, Spicer from amazon for $140ish. Jim
Now I saw both of these the top one says 8.5 BUT for a Mustang the middle one says 8.5 Ford No other info. The bottom one says 8.5 mustang again- Now I would assume the Mustang and the F-150 must have different rear axles?
I have no idea what the first covers you picture are for, but I've never heard of an 8.5" ford axle. Not an expert! look at the bolt count on yours, it's different than the 8.5. I'm sure yours is the 8.8", used on F150s for years. Certain Motor and or body/chassis configurations get the heavy duty 9.5". The 8.8" is a good axle, no loss to the 9.5 unless you're using it really hard. Jim
Okay I searched your axle code 19, It's an 8.8, 3.55 ratio. There's a million of these out there so you should have easy time finding parts!
