Question Tire size?

I have a 99' F250 S/D, C/C 4X4 with an 8 inch lift.
I have 38 inch tires on it now.
I've never had it rub.
What would be the biggest tire I could put on with that size lift?
I was thinking of putting on some 39.5's or 40's...
Thanks for any info.....

I no this will sound crazy but there is a guy in the off-road mag that runs I belive 49s on his superduty with a 6 in lift and rock crawls with it.I have 39s on mine and its only with a 6 inch lift,I would say 40 or 44 you would be safe.

you should be able to fit 39.5s or 40s no problem, as they are almost the same size, as long as you don't get them too wide. The width, especially on turns, is what will rub bad. What width were you looking at?

Anothe option is the bushwacker cut out flares.. you could fit 44's all day with those and your 8" lift.

I was looking at a 15-15.5 wide tire, with 10 inch wide rims?
Like a 39.5X15X16, or 16.5
Or a 40X15.5X16, or 16.5

I have 38x15.50x16.5 Swampers on 12 inch wide Weld wheels.I was also thinking of going bigger when they wear out.Mine only rub on the front plastic valance when turning/hitting bumps.

I have 38X13's on 8 inch rims now.
They rub the springs
It's a sucky set up.
Do I need 12 inch rims to run 15-15.5's or can I use 10's?

I'm on Los Alisos, and Madero
I'd like to see your 38's on 12 inch rims!

I,m sure you can run 15.50's on 10 inch wheels. You just need the right offset.Talk to the guys at Irvine 4 wheel parts. They are pretty helpful.

Machine, E mail me and you can check out the setup I have.

we mounted 14.5 inch wide tires on 8 inch rims. it was funny seing the guy get them on there, but we'll never have a problem with the tires coming off the beads with low air pressure.
