I removed the old cover from the brake backing plate. While wiping it down, it flipped out of my hand, hit the ground and the end broke off. It's the first metal cover I have encountered. Usually, they are rubber if there is one in place.
I took a picture but it is after the end broke off. The kit from Napa came with rubber ones.
I'd rather have the metal ones but will use the rubber ones for now to keep sand and grit out.
