Unobtainium?
Have owned many older twin I-beam trucks in my lifetime. Oldest was '65 flairside. Looking @ a '63 right now to purchase for a fishing rig.
Are there any parts that aren't reproduced or very hard to find for the early '60s trucks? I want to go into a buy w/ eyes wide open.

1963 - what engine in the truck? The 292 V8 and 223 inline 6 original engine parts are getting a bit scarce. 262 even more so. If you mention if it's an F100 or F250 or F350, etc. that might help. As a tow rig for a fishing boat, I'm not sure one of these trucks is the best choice. How big of a fishing boat? The brakes on the 1963 F100 probably a bit on the small side for a bigger boat. When towing I like to be in an overkill situation on the tow rig as opposed to being on the smaller/lightweight end of the scale. Fine to get almost anything moving forward but stopping on a decline in the wet in traffic might be another story.

Ah, I gotcha. Something to throw your pole and tackle box in. Should be fine. Front hubs and 3-speed column shift parts are not growing on trees but Ford made thousands of these trucks so as long as you're good at locating parts if needed shouldn't be a problem. I'm guessing from your login name that it's a 4 speed. The T98A parts are available and floor shift can be nice when going off road. Main wiring harness and a few other things might be unobtanium but most parts are not a problem with Napa, OReilleys, AutoZone and others able to supply more parts than some realize. Ebay and the nos parts vendors fill in most of the gaps. Dennis-Carpenter, LMC trucks, Steele Rubber, MACs, Speedway, Jegs, Inline tube, etc, etc. there's not too many things that can't be located one way or another.
