Need to ID a rear axle

Hi,
I bought a Jeep. It's on one ton Ford axles, I believe. The rear is either a 10.25 or 10.50
Just need to order bearings and hub seals. I think it doesn't matter which it is, but it would be nice to know.
Is there another way to tell, aside from pulling the carrier? And I'd like to get a parts axle. What year range should I look for? Will an Excursion axle be the same?
Thanks.

Well, a quick way is to look at the brakes, if they are original and not disc converted a drum brake unit is a 10.25, in 99 the axle went to 10.5 and discs. You have the cover off, if you can measure the ring its either 10.38 or 10.5, 10.38 is a early super duty 10.25, 10.5 is, well, a 10.5

They are disk. I don't know if it's been converted over. Trying to measure the ring without removing the carrier, so far has been unsuccessful, but I'll keep trying more on that. Is it measured from the teeth side, or the flat side?

Considering how hacked together this thing is, I bet it came with the disks, so likely a 10.5.

Thanks.

Try running the tape measure completely around the ring gear, then dividing the number you get by 3.14 to get the diameter.

Can't get a tape measure around the teeth part. Got a piece of wire around the base and measured and came up with 9.6". It's not accurate to base an axle purchase off of.
Got these markings off the ring gear, do they mean anything?

I just measured the lug pattern. It's 8x 6.5.
I want to buy a parts axle because I need a hub and want spare shafts. So if I get and older 10.25, I'll have the hubs I need with the 8x6.5 bolt pattern. But will the shafts and the carrier be the same?

Thanks again.

Try taking the flexible cloth tape measure out of a sewing kit. It’ll fit just fine.

These are often called a tailors tape, but paint & body guys use them too because they don’t scratch painted surfaces like a regular carpenters tape measure does.

While I wait for the cloth tape to come in the mail. I wanted to confirm I have the correct hub seal, weather it's a 10.5 or 10.25.

Yep. It's suppose to be a Detroit. I'm sure the front is also welded. Everything the seller said about this thing turns out to be a lie. But for what I paid, it's still worth it.
I think the 410 on the pinion means 4.10 ratio?
I'll put in some 5.38's and a selectable locker for the front.
Is there a carrier break for the rear?

Thanks.

I gave up on trying to identify the rear axle. I only needed hub seals, so got those and I'm in the process of putting the rear back together. Just need the shaft O rings to finish up. I'll pull the diff when it's time to re-gear.
But since I had some time, I started on the front axle. It's a Dana 50 solid axle. I identified it as a 50 from the pronounced hump above the pinion. And I know it's a 50 because the previous owner said it was a 60.

From what I'm seeing is that I have TTB hubs and spindles on this? I'm not 100% sure so thought I'd check. The shafts came out just like how they should on a TTB. There is no C clip, but the shafts are held in place with 2 nuts and a lock washer in between. I need to get all new bearings and seals, so need to make sure. I assume the hubs are TTB since the spindle likely is. Or can a solid hub fit on a TTB spindle?

Thanks again.
