How would you like to run into this about 30 min. before daylight, while you were walking to your deer stand, about 30 degrees, misty, overcast and dark!
IT WAS KILLED ON THE MONCRIEF RANCH APPROX. 20 MILES WEST OF FORT WORTH, BY A COYOTE HUNTER USING A CALL.
Personaly I would never shoot such a animal as this guy did unless it was attacking me. These animals ar so rare in the wild. You guys may disagree with me but I think its a shame that we can'nt share the wilderness with the natural preditors.

German trash??
Dan
Hello Bimmerese!
Theres a WINKIE at the end of that sig on the German trash comment! I had wrote "BMW 330Ci" but the Admin here editted my signature to eliminate that part of it So, I just changed it to "German Trash" with a winkie as the rebel in me saw it fit to.
i sorta do have to agree with FORDMAN on his post.
although i dont know what the laws are on shooting a cat like that, i feel if it wasnt attacking him, why shoot it? its a heck of an animal, not like a rodent or pest...
i have heard though that in certain states if a large predetor seems to be a threat to you, you can put it down. dont know the details on that though
I agree with Fordman too, except I don't think this is a native animal (just looks waaay to big, even by Taxes braggin standards).
If its some kind of African cat then I would shoot it the way I would shoot a an extremely large strange dog running on my place. I know down in Texas big cats are raised in a number of road side "zoos" and small time game preserves. Introducing such a large foreign preditor to nature would do a lot of harm.
anyone in MN see the news last night? if not the story is about people in MN raising lions, tigers, and oh yeah- bears... oh my..
seriously... people can legally raise and sell exotic predaters like that with hardly any regulations. one guy's "dealership" was in terrible condition. the animals could escape simply by digging under the fence!
makes you wonder why some people are allowed to do what they do..
Looks like a full grown mountain lion to me. You guys have to quit watching Disney for your wildlife info.
There's no shortage of these cats (ask California where they banned hunting them), and the coyote hunter was using a call. That cat came in hunting him!
The cat probably was curious about the call and would have left when it discovered that dinner was not available. Those cats will normally avoid humans. Your voice probably would have made it run off.
