I just completed a C6 to NP435 swap in my '80 F350 with a 400. I installed a hydraulic master and slave from an unknown year 150 with an I6 and what looked like a T18. The clutch fork in the bellhousing is a stock pre '80, originally a mechanical linkage. I fabricated the mount for the slave.
It seems that I do not have enough travel in the slave to operate the clutch. I have tweaked the mount to position the slave where it performs best. The clutch will never fully disengage and I do get slippage in 3rd and 4th if I accelerate hard at highway speeds.
I measure about 1.7 inches of travel for the slave. Does this sound correct?
thats in the master, not the slave.
The piston isn't moveing far enough to push the slave open.
if you dont leave enough play at the dissengage of the clutch, that will cause the slave not to let the clutch out all the way.
I figured it out. The push rod attached to the crank on the cross shaft of the clutch pedal was not touching the master's piston at full pedal up therefore I was losing that amount of stroke. I reindexed the crank on the shaft one spline and everything works fine (read that tip on another thread)
