My truck is a twenty thirteen and the current one that it has is Sync generation 2, with version 3.5
It says that 3.10 is available. I called the dealership and they're trying to tell me that not only is it a 198 Bucks for them to update it, but there may be a diagnostic charge as well.😆
I went online and it says this .
Thanks 🤙
So my question being, is it just a simple download and then plugging in the flash drive into the USB?
I don't remember the brand but when I updated mine I had used a cheap thumb drive from wal-mart & I got a wrench lite & all kind of B S
After talking to a buddy at the Ford dealer I bought a "better" thumb drive & redid the update & everything went fine, my advice use a good quality thumb drive
It did scare the ***** out of me lol
I just tried to download and got a message: your sync update must be completed at a ford dealership.
Current version is 4.2.1.t and update is 4.6. Is it worth it?
So this is the USB drive that I purchased.Trying to do the update went through what it said. And this is the problem that I got on the unit.
I did try it in both slots. 😕
On my 15, Gen 2 I had to format the USB drive toEXTFat or fat32 or fat, it could not NTFS or a drive with built in encryption. Also I had to use a flash drive no larger than 16 gig.

I remember having to use the fat32 deal & I used the same ScanDisk Ultra USB 3.0
Alright, so I got a silly question by looking at my last photo. Where it shows my current version that I have. And what is available for the update? Mine still shows that it can be improved correct.
