So bought a 70 F100 with Monroe oem shocks that were completely blown out. If you push down on the tailgate you can easily get 5” of travel and then it looks like the truck is riding a wave. Purchased a set of KYB EXCEL-G front and back. Installed this morning and the truck has almost the same amount of bounce as the blown out Monroe’s… Not sure what’s going on but expected it to be a lot tighter. Guess I’m pulling them off and looking for some heavier shocks? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
i put these on the rear of my f100 KYB KG5419 and they seem to be valved correctly. I would have liked to go with a better shock, but i couldn't find anything manufacturer recommended besides the KYBs and monroe's.
I like Monroe shocks and have used them without problems. Monotube is stiffer than dual tube just so you know. In my experience, Bilsteins seem to get stiffer when they age making for a harsher ride
