What do they do differently?

What are the filtration specs on K&N fuel filters?

Post up the link……

It's personal preference and some of us like staying loyal to one brand but I say try a lower end and higher end fuel filter and see if there's a difference in performance. I've ran WIX oil and fuel filters and never had a problem and I can pick them up at the local parts store for cheap. K&N makes a solid product but a little too pricey for my taste and I've used anything from 5 dollar to 25 dollar filters and never had an issue with either/or. I've ran the living **** out of my rigs so if cheaper parts like some would consider WIX to be have lasted this long without a performance issue I say run the cheaper option but it's really just personal preference.

Well, the fuel filters for gasser do perform essentially the same. Probably average of 10 micron. Too loose allows trash, too tight restricts flow. $1 says you could bypass it and notice no difference in power, unless other was plugged.

A new 1991 5.0 was rated at 185hp, this is about 140rwhp. Now with easily 100k plus, I would be shocked if it rolled out much past 100rw. So to state one has to have a premium whatever for top performance is pretty silly without much evidence.

I have been buying filters like the aforementioned ones for a long, long time.

What does engine oil have to do with a fuel filter?

That’s some assumption on your part.

Absolutely nothing. What product is being compared? Super Tech comes in conventional, synthetic blend and full synthetic formulas. It meets current API standards. I found this article

Just making sure I was not crazy. Engine oil stuff in fuel filter thread. Hopefully you saw where K&N guy compared Royal Purple to Supertech.

People would be surprised at some of the stuff they find with cheaper products. Sometimes you're really just paying for the name because I've seen many products with a huge price difference come from the exact same factory and made with the exact same ****. Some things are best not to cheap out on, yes, but when it comes to most filters at the end of the day they do the exact same job. One may work better than the other and one may last longer but if you do the maintenance on time it won't affect performance or longevity. Something as simple as a fuel filter a guy would be just fine with the cheaper option at the parts store and while they're at it, saving money. To me, saving money with that 5 dollar difference give or take gives me some extra money I saved to buy something else, which in my case would probably be a Mtn Dew and a candy bar at the gas station lol.
