I have a 1959 F100 and I'm looking to change the master cylinder to a 2 bowl. I'm not interested in power brakes, I'd just like to achieve a little bit of a safety improvement. Do you guys have any recommendations for a master cylinder that would work with my truck? Thanks, John
I used the master cylinder for a 1970 Mustang with manual drum brakes and ECI EC-412 to mount it to the firewall. It's at the bottom of the page in the following link:
You can buy a fitting kit from Summit that will include the fittings for the master cylinder. IIRC, I used a 3-way fitting (from master, to LF, to RF) to the front brakes and connected the rear to the existing line with a union. You can build the lines from bulk or purchase pre-made sections in various lengths from your local parts store. BTW, unless the truck already has new lines you should replace everything all the way to the wheels.
