Update on this project, in my spare time I got the fender reasonably straight and primed. I've got a bunch of acrylic lacquer so I picked out a 1974 Cadillac regal blue, 3-4 coats of the blue and clear coat with urethane clear. Now to decide what kind of custom touches I'm going to put on it.

I have literally gallons of unopened pint and quart cans of factory packs of . acrylic lacquer and enamel that had been reclassed because of no sales in their distributors stores. Some of the colors are rather ho-hum, but there are some like the caddy paint that look great.
