Next Question 96 Explorer Power Seat

1996 Explorer Limited. Ok, Ok, I know I just posted the next question in my series but this is the next next question.

Passenger seat has power and the two rocker switches to tilt the front or back work. The center switch to move the seat forward or raise the seat up does nothing. No click or movement. Bad motor or switch, maybe wiring? If I recall from other Ford seats, there is just 1 motor? I've added a pic of the seat not moving.........

Pic of passenger seat not moving forward or back and not moving up or down.....

There are three motors in the power seats: one to move the seat forward and backward, one to move the front of the seat up and down, and one to move the rear of the seat up and down. There are four buttons to control the 3 motors: one to move the front of the seat up and down, 1 to move the rear of the seat up and down, one to move the entire seat up and down, and one to move the seat forward and backward.

All three motors and the four seat switches are powered by the 30 amp Fuse 5, so if the wiring is original and any of the motors work, the fuse is not the issue. Based on your description of the issue and the wiring diagram, I'd be included to suspect the switch assembly as the issue, especially since it sounds like you're not hearing any contacts clicking in the switch. You could try taking the switch apart to see if maybe it's just a burned trace and you can bridge the burned area. Although, make sure there isn't something wedged under the seat and preventing it from moving before fixing a burned switch to reduce the chance of the motor stalling, drawing a bunch of current, and again burning up the switch.

So the 4 way switch in the middle, does it send power to the front and rear motors to raise? If so, that would tell me to start at that switch.

Yes, and that's exactly why I also suggest a switch issue. Same power source, same motors, so the only common that would prevent the seat from raising, lowering, and moving forward and backward when the switches to raise and lower the front and rear of the seat individually is that 4-way switch.
