429 engine

I was wondering if any of the trucks our model came with a 429 engine factory?? Also, what all is involved in changing a 240 to a 429 besides changing the motor mounts. Is the bell housing different, etc...?

that sounds like quite a bit of work....about the springs, in my 1970 options manual, the I6 came with only 50 or 75 pound less spring weight....would it make it squat down a real lot or will i have to change springs.
On the bellhousing, i would like to keep the 3 speed so will a bellhousing off a 360 or 390 with a 3spd work or is the bellhousing unique to a 429?

The bell housing from the 351m/400 engine will work too. I have got by with the 6 cylinder gas pedal before by just making my own linkage rod from aircraft type cable. It worked fine.
