Im the proud new owner of a clifford 4 barrel intake, and edelbrock carb. Im in the process of rebuilding another 300 motor, which leads up to these questions. Has anyone had success installing headers other than cliffords with the clifford intake? Are there any manufacturers of an h or x pipe exhaust assymbly for an 86 bronco, or is this a custom only option? thanks in advance for any info/experience you can share.
I had a set of Hooker Super Comps mocked up with my Clifford - on my spare engine. A little creative "washering" was needed, along with a bit of header flange grinding. I've read that most headers will work, despite what Clifford says - you just need to "shim/washer" to account for different thickness of the intake & header flanges. Anyone who's moderately mechanical should be able to handle it. A grinder is a must.
Don't know about "X" or "H" pipes - you might consider 2 1/2" single. It's a natural match for the Walker & the 300.
hey boys, on that note, where might i come across a nice intake and header combo...EFI, 91 f150, not who makes them, but wher ei can see them, and some dynos on what they really do
hmm...well clifford claims to have some new goodies for efi, and some more on the way. I dont know if they have spec sheets out yet, and ive never dealt with their customer service yet, but they might be worth a call.
I might check back with Clifford, .... if ALL my favorite forums were down and I was bored silly. I got the run around 'til I gave up. I have heard, since then, that it's getting better. I figure if they come up with something good, SOMEBODY will post about it...
