Towing question
I hauled my small (5'x10') utility trailer for the first time with my 2023 F-350 KR with the 6.7 S.O. Powerstroke. I setup a trailer profile in the system. The first noticed is even at 55 MPH the transmission would not shift past 8th or 9th gear. (the trailer was empty, less than 1,000LBS) As soon as I unhooked the trailer of course the system knew there was no trailer connected, and when I went out it shifted to 9th and 10th gear. Is this normal for the new 10 speeds to stay out of the two higher gears when a trailer is hooked up?

I'm sure that is the way it is set up.
I never enter a trailer into my truck.
Now, mine is a '22, and they are set up differently than the 23+, so maybe you have to on them???
If you can, don't enter a trailer and see how it goes.

For what it's worth, my 7.3 has no issues shifting into 10th while in tow/haul. It does downshift on hills.
Unless you are going 30 mph I don't know why it wouldn't be in 10th.
You don't have itt set up as 50,000 lbs, or anything wierd like that, do you?

For what it's worth, my 7.3 has no issues shifting into 10th while in tow/haul. It does downshift on hills.

regardless of the trailer setup for me I haven’t noticed it limiting gears or vehicle speed with my 23 6.7

I would try Ltngdrvr’s advice and see if you get into those gears towing without selecting the trailer. Never had an issue with my 23 towing a 11k fifth wheel.

My '23 diesel shifts into 10th gear uphill pulling over 8K pounds. I have that trailer entered into memory.

OK, given that I read about problems with this feature now and then, I'll ask:
What is the advantage of your truck storing information about trailers?
The only thing I can think of is this could allow your truck to remember the brake controller settings for different trailers, but IMO, this would be of limited value for trailers that require different settings when empty vs full (for example, dump trailers and flatbed trailers) where you'd still need to know how to adjust brake controller manually to match the load.

^^ I'm betting this is what happened - somehow accidentally locked out the upper gears. It should have no problem using all gears unless you lock them out.
If this ISN'T the case, then you need to have it looked at.

can help you avoid certain restrictions or obstructions. Can be nice if you’re in unfamiliar places etc.
also has the memory for the brake settings which is nice and when towing now out blinker on it brings up the side camera showing the lane next to you automatically
and yes I think it will also track different trailer maintenance items as well since it can log the miles for each trailer etc.
Overall I don’t have any complaints about my 23. It’s a nice truck.
